The Protected Natural Area of Local Interest (ANPIL) of Torrent Terzolle was established in 2006 with a council resolution of the Tuscany Region (DGR 27.11.2006).
The area, which covers about 2000 hectares and involves the Municipalities of Florence, Sesto Fiorentino and Vaglia, includes the Terzolle torrent basin and the hilly area of the eastern slope of Monte Morello. The landscape is formed by olive groves and woods of oak and oak, governed for the most part in coppice.
